Happy Black History Month! Of course, at CULTURE, we celebrate Blackness 365 days out of the year!

To kick off the momentus occassion, we collabed with Eshè for the latest session of In Da Basement. The self proclaimed Chromotherapist talked with us about the intersection of color and music, why she spent time studying colors in college and what her experience was like starring on an episode of So Far Sounds.

ABOUT IN DA BASEMENT

Each week, the good people at Culture will bring Chicago’s hottest up-and-coming musical prospects to the forefront. In tandem with Clutch Productions and A.W.O.L Films, our aim is to provide a platform for artists to shine.

The show consists of a light, conversational interview in which we delve into the origins of the artist, their views on the city and anything from the latest social media trends to their favorite Bulls player.

The latter half features a freestyle performance where show host Swisha Pearl joins the guest in “blessing the basement.”

Join us as we discover the best of Chicago’s thriving music scene. Get an intimate view of the artists you’ll soon see blow up on social media as well as a rare opportunity to catch a special freestyle.
