Welcome all. I hope you came ready to learn about English. For you students and language enthusiasts out there, this song is … well, it’s different. The rhythm is not even, and what the singer says can be confusing on the first or tenth listen. Luckily, the lyrics are posted below, so don’t sweat the words. Yet, there’s another layer to this song that needs more explaining, and that’s what we’re here to do.

As for the singer and these lyrics, well, they can get a bit feisty.

“Pleasure” is a song from Feist’s 2017 album, also called Pleasure. Hmm, I wonder what she was thinking about on this one. Jokes aside, this song is an interesting one, not exactly your classic pop hit.

As stated before, the rhythm of her singing is deceptive, throwing us off track. To me, the song is about human passion and desire, among other life needs. She says these things are part of our evolution, passed through the generations, and people now understand how important our needs and desires truly are. So, people are literally made and evolved to have pleasure. It’s kind of a scientific take on romance. Listen and see what the song means to you. I’d love to hear your opinion.
