616 Presents: Egan Franks Holzhausen explores “Conversations in the Other Room”
Light Gallery + Studio debuts Franks Holzhausen in part of First Fridays along The Avenue of The Arts.
On this week’s podcast, Egan Franks Holzhausen joins Erika Townsley in an episode that explores the artist’s background as an artist.
Franks Holzhausen’s paintings are fun and playful, with an exploration of shapes and color.
Graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Franks Holzhausen found her passion of folk-inspired art through doing artwork for music festivals.
Cartoons, and their feel-good nature, are a huge inspiration in her work today. Colorful paintings are showcased similarly to a diorama style environment.
Her newest body of work, “Conversations in the Other Room,” will have its opening reception on June 1 from 6–9 p.m., and will be on display through the month of June at Light Gallery + Studio.
