On this week’s podcast, Matthew Provoast sits down with Patrick Stoffel, owner of Fox Naturals. Stoffel left his job as a merchandiser for Bath & Body Works last summer, and jumped in head first with his business by opening a brick and mortar storefront for Fox Naturals at 619 Wealthy Street.

Fox Natural’s storefront was a long time coming, with Stoffel working on his first “soaps” as a child. With inspiration from his grandmother’s use of herbs and natural ingredients, Fox Naturals was born.

Though Stoffel was from a family of wood workers, he knew that natural products were his calling. In 2008, he made his own Etsy shop to continue making soaps and skin care products.

After putting in years working in retail, and doing 20 different pop-up shops on Wealthy Street, he was ready to go out on his own.

Stoffel works hard to make quality organic goods for the consumers in Grand Rapids. His approach to business is the opposite of what he learned working at the mall, focusing more on the consumers’ needs, instead of their wallets.
