Culture Glaze Recaps Week 12 in the NFL!

12 Angry Weeks

What a week in the NFL! Some amazing catches (Oh hi Odell Beckham Jr.), close games that shouldn’t have been (I’m looking at you Green Bay and Denver), and the Raiders with their first win (!!!!). Sadly, your friendly neighborhood NFL Recapper has been sick and not able to accurately and wittingly remark on the games of this past week. So instead, I’m going to turn to my best friend Twitter to provide some recaps for me. Below you will find a tweet that will try to summarize each team’s play from this last week.

Thursday Night

Kansas City Chiefs 20 — Oakland Raiders 24

Derek Carr celebrates the Raiders first win in over a year.

Sunday Games

Cleveland Browns 26 — Atlanta Falcons 24

Billy Cundiff with a game-winning field goal to help the Browns move past the Falcons.

Tennessee Titans 24 — Philadelphia Eagles 43

LeSean McCoy rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown against the Titans.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13 — Chicago Bears 21

The Bears and Ryan Mundy caused the Bucs to turn the ball over multiple times which led them to the W.

Green Bay Packers 24 — Minnesota Vikings 21

It wasn’t their most dominate win of the season, but Aaron Rodgers knows what drink to celebrate with after beating the purple clad Vikings.

Jacksonville Jaguars 3 — Indianapolis Colts 23

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton cradles a football after his touchdown Hilton’s wife gave birth to their daughter the morning of the game.

Cincinnati Bengals 22 — Houston Texans 13

Houston QB Ryan Mallett hangs his head in a loss to the Bengals. Maybe he knew that his torn pectoral muscle would lead to a season ending injury?

Detroit Lions 9 — New England Patriots 34

The New England Patriots Offense celebrates another touchdown against the Cowardly Lions of Detroit.

Arizona Cardinals 3 — Seattle Seahawks 19

Cooper Helfet soars into the endzone as the Seahawks took down the Cardinals, the number 1 team in the NFC.

St. Louis Rams 24 — San Diego Chargers 27

Ryan Matthews scores in his second game back after missing the previous seven. The Chargers needed everyone of his 105 yards as they pulled out a win against the Rams.

Miami Dolphins 36 — Denver Broncos 39

The Broncos entered the 4th quarter down 11, but marched back with the help of CJ Anderson and Peyton Manning to narrowly defeat the Dolphins.

Washington 13 — San Francisco 17

Carlos Hyde rushed for a 4-yard TD in the 4th to give the 49ers the lead and the eventual win against Washington.

Sunday Night

Dallas Cowboys 31 — New York Giants 28

While they didn’t pull out the win, maybe the Giants can be happy that Odell Beckham Jr. pulled off possibly the best catch of the season?

Monday Night Football x2!

New York Jets 3 — Buffalo Bills 38

Bills fans in Buffalo watch their team dismantle the Jets in a “home game” in Detroit.

Baltimore Ravens 17 — New Orleans Saints 17

Justin Forsett scores in the first half against the Saints. The Saints have now dropped 3 in a row.

The Week Ahead

  • On Thanksgiving Day the Bears visit the Lions; the Eagles square off against the Cowboys, and a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship game takes place as the Seahawks head into San Francisco to take on the 49ers.
  • The Chiefs sadly lose Pro Bowl Safety Eric Berry for the rest of the year as a mass (possibly lymphoma) has been found on his chest. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to Berry. The Chiefs will look to win one in his honor as they take on the Broncos in Sunday Night Football.
  • Reports out of Cleveland suggest that Browns backup QB Johnny Manziel got into a fight at a Cleveland hotel on Friday night. No word yet on if any punishment will occur for Manziel, but the Browns hope that this won’t be a distraction during the week as they prepare to take on the Bills.
