Introduction
Celestia has made significant progress since its testnet phase, successfully launching its mainnet. With the mainnet up and running, users can now fully experiment with transactions and delegation to validators through the Leap Wallet.
If you are a Celestia user or are simply interested in exploring the functionality of Leap Wallet, such as managing funds and learning how to staking on the Celestia mainnet, follow these steps:
Using Leap Wallet on the Celestia network
If you have your Leap Wallet, the first thing you need to do is to add the Celestia mainnet.
In case you don’t have Leap Wallet installed you can use our step-by-step guide here:
How to add the Celestia network to Leap Wallet
✔️ Visit the official Celestia website for more information:
https://docs.celestia.org/developers/leap/
✔️ Access the Leap Wallet extension in your browser and go to the button at the top.
✔️ Choose the Celestia network:
Once these steps have been completed, the Celestia will appear with the balance in TIA tokens:
If you wish to transfer TIA tokens from your Exchange to Leap wallet we have a guide to do so:
How to delegate your tokens on the Celestia network
You can delegate directly from Leap Wallet by performing the following steps:
1) Click on the Stake button at the bottom:
2) On the next screen, click on the + Stake button:
3) Choose the validator to which you want to delegate your tokens:
4) Choose your stake amount and click on the Review button:
5) Confirm the operation by clicking on Stake TIA:
6) The transaction confirmation screen will appear:
Note: remember that a good practice to improve the decentralisation/security of the blockchain is to delegate to several validators, thus distributing voting power so that control of the network is well distributed and power is not concentrated in one or a few nodes.
You can copy the transaction to view it in a block explorer:
Or use the Explorer button to view it directly in mintscan:
In your Leap Wallet you can see the delegated balance, in the Stake section of the wallet:
