Join the Fashion Studies Program at 7pm on Friday, April 8, 2016 for a panel discussion on Fashion & Sustainability!

Our stellar line up of panelists includes:

Laura Sansone

Laura Sansone: Laura Sansone is a textile designer, activist, researcher, and consultant. She is the creator of Textile Lab, an ongoing research project that examines environmentally responsible textile methods, and regional systems of production. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Alternative Fashion Systems at Parsons The New School For Design, School for Design Strategies (SDS).

Sass Brown

Sass Brown: Sass Brown is Acting Associate Dean for the School of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. Originally from London, England, Sass established herself as a designer with her own signature collection selling in the UK and across Canada. As a researcher, writer, blogger and educator, her area of expertise is ethical fashion, in all of its various expressions, from slow design and heritage craft skills to recycle, reuse and new business models.

Tabitha St. Bernard

Tabitha St. Bernard: The designer behind Tabii Just, a womenswear clothing label that encourages conscious fashion consumption by being zero waste and locally produced. Her label is designed and manufactured in NYC.

Auralis Herrero: Auralis Herrero Lugo is an fashion designer, entrepreneur, sustainable manufacturing consultant and educator. She is the founder of Auralis Studio: a sustainable resort-wear brand made between NYC and Puerto Rico. She teaches Ethical Fashion at FIT and is one of the founders of REFASHIOND, a project that will bridge NYC designers with sustainable manufacturing in Puerto Rico.

The panel discussion will be moderated by current M.A. candidate in Fashion Studies, Chrislande Dorcilus.

The event will take place in the Skylight Room at The Graduate Center (365 5th Avenue, 9th Floor).
