About the Project

Johanna Clark and Damon Hatheway are Classics students at Hunter College where they are studying Apuleius’s Metamorphoses in a class on the ancient novel.

The following reflects a short study of the final two sections (6.23–24) of the Cupid & Psyche myth at the heart of the story. We hope to introduce Apuleius to other upper-level Latin students through notes on vocabulary and morphology, a narrative approach to translation, and a brief interpretive essay on each of the sections we’ve chosen.
