To visit a doctor for a complaint as simple as a headache can take hours.

Less than 20 minutes of this time will be spent in front of the doctor. The remaining hours is usually spent waiting on the doctor, and on record creation and management.

Such delay in treatment and accessing a doctor can prove fatal in critical conditions.

Delay in administering treatments to patients are usually caused by the record creation process and the carrying out of medical tests and preliminary procedures that have been done in previous visits to other health centres. But inaccessible at the new location.

EHR systems, have been designed to solve this problem, these systems however introduced complexities and increased the cost of healthcare delivery. There are currently 100+ EHR systems, all working in isolation.

If there is a single pool of data where everyone can store and access their health record any time and everywhere in the world, this delay will be eliminated and treatment rendered faster and cheaper.

A system like this if it should work effectively and accepted must be,

  • Safe
  • Decentralized i.e. not controlled by a single institution. .
  • Sure to lack boundary barriers. i.e. can be accessed globally.
  • Sure to provide privacy for patient’s records and gives control to the patient.

The blockchain network has all the above listed characteristics, with anonymity. A healthcare system built on the blockchain will give patients and healthcare providers the ability to create and store patients’ health records and access them anytime and anywhere.

Patients will have control of their health records and give access to whoever they want to. This will eliminate the delay encountered in hospitals, reduce the cost of healthcare and improve our health and change how we see healthcare. With such a platform, the health history of patients can be accessed and used anytime and everywhere; eliminating the need for repetitive tests and procedures.

At Cura network, we’re building a platform that will give all the above listed benefits. On our platform built using cutting edge blockchain technology, patients’ health data can be organized and stored on a distributed storage system.

Using a unique Cura Network ID (CNID), patients’ health records can be accessed anytime and anywhere in the world using our mobile application. Easy payment for health services rendered will be possible with Cur; the native Cura Network cryptocurrency.

The Cura Network platform serving as a global single source of truth on health records will unify health data into one pool enabling patients, health specialists, Institutions, developers and researchers to share data easily and collaborate. This will eliminate the delay that the lack of data interoperability poses to healthcare service delivery and improve human health.
