Curatorial-X c/o Studio PA5

Architectural Design 5 is a mandatory studio course that encourages students to focus on exploring unconventional architecture. Each student has the opportunity to choose their working group, which is supervised by different laboratories. The studio culture promotes curiosity and collaboration with other disciplines while also staying connected to the main topic of study for each semester. This enables students to expand their understanding of how architecture can evolve in the future and reshape the way people inhabit it.

The project draws inspiration from diverse contexts, anticipates future developments while remaining engaged with the present, and critically generates arguments and representations of innovative ideas. Students have the flexibility to work on speculative architectural design, incorporating data analysis and experimentation as well as exploring different forms of architectural representation. The research-based design issues provided by the laboratories encompass theoretical approaches, innovative design methods, advancements in structural and construction techniques, scientific methodologies, and even reevaluating fundamental aspects of our daily lives related to architecture.
