A few weeks ago, we launched Curio Rewards™ — a loyalty program that rewards active users. Though you can read all about it here, we thought that this simple blog post may help to answer some questions and get you excited about all the ways that points can be used. Let’s get into it…

How do I earn points?

You can always earn points for buying Curio NFTs in drops, auctions, or on a secondary market (e.g. the Curio Exchange) — or holding Curio NFTs in your portfolio. Occasionally, we may give out bonus points for a range of other activities, like being an early collector to a drop, subscribing to our newsletter, participating on Discord or events, retweeting our posts, etc. — but let’s save all that for another post.

How many points do I get for each activity?

It depends. Every Monday morning (at about 9 AM PT), we now distribute 200,000 points. (This is up for the 100K points that we distributed the first few weeks of the program.) Half are distributed equally to owners holding Curio NFTs. The other half go to new buyers. Depending on the number and value of the drops in a given week, the purchases on the Exchange may earn you more or less reward points.

What is the difference between branded points and general Curio points?

I’m so glad you asked. If I purchased American Gods NFTs, I’m going to earn American Gods rewards points. Scott Pilgrim NFTs? Scott Pilgrim rewards points. Most points that you earn will be branded points, meaning they are related to the specific brand or collection of that NFT. You have the ability to convert branded points into general Curio points, but you can’t convert Curio points into branded points. They only work one way.

Why would I want to convert my branded points to general Curio points?

It all depends on how you want to use your points… let’s talk about it.

What can I use points for?

So far, points can be redeemed for points-only NFTs and for raffle tickets when these opportunities are available. In the future, there will be many other opportunities to redeem points such as badges, display cases, upgraded NFTs, planting trees, tickets to experiences, voting, etc.

What’s an example of how points have been used?

Recently, we launched the first Curio Membership NFT called the Genesis Card. Collectors holding this limited edition NFT unlock the following benefits:

  • Early Access for drops (when applicable)
  • Exclusive access to private VIP Discord channel
  • Exclusive access to select members-only NFT giveaways
  • Exclusive access to select members-only NFT raffles

There were/are three possible ways to get a Genesis Card in the primary sale:

  1. Editions #1 — #25 were gifted to the top 25 Reward Points holders.
  2. Editions #26 — #99 were available for purchase with 750 Curio Rewards Points. (This required users to convert branded points to general Curio points… told you I’d get there!)
  3. Edition #100 was raffled off.

If you didn’t get a Genesis Card in the drop, you can see if any are available for purchase on the Curio Exchange. (Pro Tip: Filter by “Curio” collection to see just the Genesis Cards on the Exchange.)

Do I earn reward points for buying NFTs with rewards points?

Yes! We treat all primary sales as drops, even those purchased with rewards points. Though points don’t necessarily have a direct dollar value, for purposes of calculating the weekly points distribution, we count 1 reward point as $1.

Do I get points for winning a raffle, too?

For #fairness, raffle winners and giveaways don’t earn rewards points. (Though every rule has exceptions… The top 25 Rewards Points holders who were gifted the Genesis Card did earn rewards points as that was considered a primary sale.)

Hope this answers a few of your questions! Hit us up on Discord if you have any more!

Cheers,

Team Curio
