How To Save Medium Posts
Preventing OMG I’ve lost all my work!
Have you ever experienced the devestating loss of a publication you wrote for? I have; several times. One time was when Business Venture Magazine went bust. I wrote about it in my last article. Another time The Weekly, where I received state awards for journalism, went under. The price of printing a multipage weekly newspaper could no longer be covered by the advertising revenue. I had already left the publication because I moved out of state, so the sting wasn’t as painful for me. But it was excruciating for my friend the Editor/Publisher, who had poured his heart into the publication.
Publications go bust. A lot. It hurts. Writers learn to dust off the charred remains of their dignity and start looking for new gigs. I’ve spent a lifetime looking for new gigs.
Because, you know, this girl has gotta write!
In my last piece, I shared the importance of saving your work and the devastating loss of a publication’s income as a freelance writer.
