Fellow bibliophiles and explorers, welcome back to Reading Olympics! In this series, I am on an adventure of reading a book from every country of the world.

The reason for this is that I think that storytelling is such an interesting craft. If you only read books written originally in your native language and by people from the same country as you, you don’t get to experience the full scope of what storytelling can be.

Reading books in translation, reading books from around the world, is introducing me to so many ways of telling stories.

We continue the journey around the globe, and for our 5th stop, I am going to a country which is very close to my home country, but shamefully I haven’t read anything from.

I was surprised when I discovered that they have a Nobel Prize winner, Ivo Andrić. He wrote novels, dealing with the history of the Balkans, and won the Nobel Prize of 1961 for literature.
