Why I Never Write Negative Book Reviews

Trying to See the Heart Behind Every Book

Ever held a book and felt the author’s heartbeat within its pages?

I have.

And it’s why you’ll never find a negative book review from me.

You know, when you hold a book in your hands, it’s more than just paper and words. Someone made that. A real person, with their own thoughts and feelings, put a lot of themselves into it.

The act of opening a book is an invitation, a step into another’s world. Within those pages lie not only words, but often a piece of the author’s heart and mind.

It is with this understanding that I approach each new literary journey, and it shapes the way I choose to share my reading experiences.

A human soul has put sweat, tears, and blood into it, and who am I to hurt them just because I didn’t understand their work. Maybe, most probably it wasn’t written for me.

Reading books from around the world with Reading Olympics now has highlighted this for me.

There’s a lot I don’t understand from cultures I am not familiar with.

But exactly this is why I am reading them. To learn to understand.
