The Data Science Handbook

This book should definitely be in every data scientist’s shelf: it contains interviews with 25 data scientists from different companies, industries and experience levels. They will give you valuable insights on how to plan your career in the long run, which companies to work for, how to keep learning and how they see the field changing in the next years. This book adds a lot of value and actionable insights, especially if you are a beginner. For a more detailed summary, read this article with the main 10 lessons from the book.

As an exercise, I recommend you get some of the most interesting questions from the book and ask them to a data scientist that works in a company you really want to work for, or to someone who works in your country or region (reach them on LinkedIn). That way you can get the same insight, but tailor-made to your reality and goals.
