Do you ever feel like there’s just so much to do or in your own life there’s just too much going on? We often start with a long list of resolutions when the new year rolls around that we often let go of by the end of the first quarter or halfway through the year.

With more than eight years as an event planner, I’m no stranger to organizing activities for the year, and not just events, but goals and priorities as well as finances and the like. And while it might sound like two totally different things, there are a lot of tips for event planning that can also relate to our personal lives.

1. Make use of calendars and other schedule-planning apps.

Calendars and scheduling planning apps are my best friend when it comes to planning things. If you don’t have a daily planner that you go through, or you prefer keeping your schedule on your phone so it’s easily clickable and you don’t have to carry a few extra things when you go around, I suggest getting an app that will help you keep track of your schedule. I use Google Calendar or Moleskine Timepage to remind me that I have something coming up.
