The things we say or do all affect how someone perceives us, but also whether they remember us.

It’s our role to make sure we leave a lasting impression. It ensures you’re remembered, it can give you confidence and it makes the other person think “Damn, I wanna meet up with them again!”

Luckily for us, leaving a lasting impression can be mastered. And, as someone in the field of psychology, I’ve managed to learn a few tips and tricks to help with leaving a lasting impression.

Here are five small ways you can leave a lasting and impactful impression.

1. Try to Find Something in Common

If someone shares the same views as you on climate change or has similar difficulties in terms of landing a freelance job, you’re going to want to speak to them more and will remember them more.

Studies even show that we form more positive impressions of people and are more likely to remember them if we find similar traits in them to us.

So to leave that lasting impression, find that common ground and talk about it. You’ll instantly be able to light each other up when you start talking…
