It’s my birthday today as I’m writing this.

Birthdays. January 1st. A new year. It’s these societal milestones that symbolize the perfect time for us to reflect. It’s funny how something so trivial can spark a necessary reset.

My past year started rough. A few friendships turned sour and the wounds cut deeper when it’s an unexpected ending.

But my “glass half full” spirit rose to the occasion. I’ve had better friends than bad ones. More supportive family members than toxic ones. Great mentors over incompetent managers.

I’ve lived a pretty blessed life. And a massive chunk of that is due to my relationships around me. The people around us shape us for better and for worse. If we grow selective to who we let in our inner circle, we can shine. It’s not just for success, but happiness and inner peace.
