If online dating had its own review on TripAdvisor, it would be labelled as ‘disappointing’. Most swipes don’t even lead to a match. Fewer matches lead to a convo. Convos die out before the date. And when you finally land a date, you could be ghosted for no reason.

Back to Square 1 you go.

‘Online dating hacks’ can be found everywhere but the truth is, unless you’re the richest, prettiest and most charismatic person in the room, we’ve all had our struggles.

I’ve used dating apps on-and-off for a few years and been on a fair few date (most leading nowhere unfortunately). I prefer to meet someone organically but and a diminishing social circle and the COVID drama of ‘20/21, it’s challenging to say the least. I’m not here to offer ‘dating hacks’ but rather to share some personal lessons gained trying to navigate the minefield of online dating.

Warning: the truth can hurt.

1. ‘I’m not much of a texter’ translates to ‘I’m not really interested in you’.
