There is this deep-seated seed of doubt that grows in you. At first, you barely noticed it. Little a tickle in your throat is a sure sign of impending flu but at the time, well, it’s just a tickle.

This seed grows.

Slowly at first. The tiny stalk unfolds and stretches. It marches on through the seasons, creeping up. Then, one Sunday afternoon at 6:02 pm, you feel your face turn cold, your mouth dry, and your arms heavy. You slump into the sofa, it won’t comfort you from this feeling.

At 6:05 pm

You conclude that you have destroyed your life.

But the truth is, you had a tickle a long time ago. Here are some signs of the tickle and that’ll you’ll hit the Sunday 6:05 pm doom.

1. Searching

Before writing I had a deep aching.

It arrived every morning and haunted me most nights. On the weekend it was like the thing had necked a pack of Smarties and was bouncing around my head like a kid at Christmas.

It kept saying the same thing:

“Yeah, but what do you want to do with your life?”
