History is to be learned from not relived!

“Development means a capacity for self-sustaining growth. It means that an economy must register advances which in turn will promote further progress. The loss of industry and skill in Africa was extremely small, if we measure it from the viewpoint of modern scientific achievements or even by the standards of England in the late eighteenth century. However, it must be borne in mind that to be held back at one stage means that it is impossible to go on to a further stage. When a person is forced to leave school after only two years of primary school education, it is no reflection on him that he is academically and intellectually less developed than someone who had the opportunity to be schooled right through to university level. What Africa experienced in the early centuries of trade was precisely a loss of development opportunity, and this is of greatest importance. Pg. 105”
Walter Rodney, How Europe Underdeveloped Africa

Overview

Understand that I don’t agree with slavery but I do agree with presenting the proper truth. Instead of pointing fingers at folks entirely, we are all prisoners of war. It’s basically everyone’s fault we are in the process of emancipation from a peculiar institution called America and Capitalism! Many were kidnapped but most were traded!

Back during the seventh century, seven centuries before the Europeans explored Africa and ten centuries before west Africans were sold across the Atlantic. African slaves along with white slaves were sold in East Africa regarded as the center of the slave trade at the time. Along with precious minerals and goods, slaves had existed practically in all civilizations. This was true in Africa before settlers came as well. European nations simply partook in strengthening a progressive already-in-place structure. They simply had the resources to strong-arm the competition and become leaders of dark time!

Today

There are many forms of slavery from what’s depicted on the big screen or in books. Most of which none of us have ever experienced, besides the slavery of consumerism. Why complain about what was, when most of us opt into it now in the many forms of mental and emotional stimulation. When Kanye said “slavery was a choice” most people frowned upon him. But failed to realize that systematic control and installation of fear on the masses. Creates the illusion that there isn’t much that can be changed, so we opt-in and accept what is. The choice to be controlled without question despite the obvious need to stand against the projected norm or societal flaws. Is indeed choosing to be enslaved. Agree or not that’s okay.

The notion that one group of people is above the others has always been a problem in our societies. But what most don’t realize is, the elites of these groups all work together just as they did 100’s of years ago. The best way to control the masses is to keep them separated and that includes mind, body, and oceans! Many love a reason to look to others and blame them for their so-called ancestors! Truthfully the place to start is within our own cultures, many Afro-Americans perpetuate self-hate and racism on each other. Growing up I was called white for my proper voice and being “Too smart”.

Breaking the chains

Being told everything you do isn’t black and compared to another person really instills the feeling that you’re nothing special! What happened 100’s of years ago is still present but within our own communities. The most destructive force in life is the lack of love and hate for yourself. This force can create generations of stunted closed-minded thinkers and should be talked about more often among Afro communities.

The stigma of being whitewashed or anything other than who you are needs to be abolished. Most of us aren’t even the race we sign on paper. The mixes of 1000’s of generations make us all a mixture of a multitude of ethnicities. Take a DNA test watch you may just be less of what you thought or told you were. We’re all in this together so let’s thrive and change together. The acknowledgment of truth from fiction would be a great start! Remember if you combined all of us together like playdoh you’d get black!

Speak up but speak facts! I believe in You!
