Here’s what mental health experts say about the coping strategies that may be working for her

Sure, Taylor Swift can find the energy and creativity to release two new albums during a pandemic while I can’t even decide between the burrito bowl and the salad at Chipotle. (And yes, let’s acknowledge that she’s privileged, successful, and has a team of people behind her for support.)

And maybe we shouldn’t compare ourselves to her. “We’re not all going to be able to be as productive as Taylor Swift, even on a good day, and it’s not something to judge yourself for,” says Heidi Cox, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist based in New York City. “We all experience different levels of stress in a given situation, and have different ways of coping with stress.”

But Swift’s productivity might be a byproduct of strategies she’s using that are smart ways to cope during the pandemic, according to mental health experts. And you don’t need to be a top pop star to do them. They’re accessible to all of us.
