We were born with gifts. Some may refer to them as talents, and others as creative skills. However, many of us have put our creative minds on hold — keeping them hidden from ourselves and the world.

But it is only when we unlock our inner creativity and use our gifts that we will be able to enjoy the abundance of what life has to offer.

Creativity is finding unexpected ideas, new solutions, and ways to solve a problem or need. The results can successfully impact your life and the lives of others. It is the most powerful attribute in our life. It improves our overall outlook; it helps build self-confidence and increases open-mindedness to become a more engaging person.

As we step out of our comfort zone and think outside the box, we can embrace our creative genius. There is no better time than now to unlock your inner creativity. To help you jumpstart the process, here are ten keywords to can inspire your creative spirit. Use them to enhance or prompt the creative process.

Dream

We all have dreams and goals in life. When we dream, let’s make them BIG — the bigger, the better. Our dreams do not expire. They are waiting for us to take action, and remember to write them down and share them with others. “Dreams die in isolation…” — Barbara Sher.

Explore

Become an explorer by visiting new cities in your country or state. Travel to other countries to learn their culture and languages. The new experiences and knowledge will serve as a base for new ideas for your next creative project..

Adventure

Be adventurous and engage in exciting experiences, such as sampling new cuisines, playing games, dances, enjoy a good laugh with friends, learn to sing or play an instrument, all for excitement and fun. These new experiences help broaden one’s outlook of the world and open our creative minds.

Believe

We must always have a strong belief in ourselves to keep an open mind about our creative pursuits. It helps us avoid self-doubt and other negative thoughts still waiting to creep into our heads. Believing in ourselves will make us better thinkers and more prepared to take on challenges and risks along the way.

Change

Change is finding your spin for a solution or problem. It requires focus and patience to work and be successful. During this phase, one can become frustrated and stuck, on the verge of giving up. This is the time to stop and listen to your intuition for clarity. Take a break, relax, and return with a clearer vision.

Enlighten

Share your creativity and experiences with others. Tell them your story of failures and wins. This will help build your self-confidence as well as your colleagues and peers.

Motivate

Self-motivation can be challenging when one is in a creative rut. To stay motivated, you must surround yourself with self-minded colleagues and friends for advice and encouragement. It’s also important to reach out to friends, if only for a friendly conversation.

Imagine

Imagination is the powerhouse of one’s creativity. We are continuously using our imagination to create, even though we don’t realize it’s been used. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” — Maya Angelou.

Inspire

Inspiration is all around us. We were born with our gifts, as creative beings. Some of us have chosen to put our creative life on the back burner, and others have kept it hidden from the world.
