These are our official submission guidelines.

Whether you’re a budding writer looking for more exposure or a creativity enthusiast with ideas worth sharing, this resource guide will help you get featured in Curiously Creative.

Step 1: Know What We’re Looking For

Curiously Creative is a community of creative thinkers and makers. We’re here to inspire people to nourish their creative genius no matter their age or interests. Creativity is for everyone.

Our publication is hosted through Medium. And like Medium, we value quality. We want our readers to feel motivated, empowered, and ready to create change.

For every story we review, we ask ourselves the following questions:

✔ Was this article or essay written for the reader?

Does it provide meaningful advice, insight, or an original take on important issues?

✔ Does it offer a good reading experience?

Is the article well-formatted with a clear beginning, middle, and end? Is the language clear and concise? Is it free of typos or grammatical errors?

✔ Can we hear your authentic voice?

More than a perfectly written piece, we crave pieces that showcase your unique perspective and personality. Write like you talk, and say what you believe.

For automated assistance in catching typos and other trivial mistakes, we highly recommend installing Grammarly. This will not only help you submit error-free work but also helps us streamline our reviews. You can sign up here using our affiliate link.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  • We only accept unpublished drafts. This is to ensure proper scheduling and that each story spends ample time on our front page.
  • We only accept members-only content. This qualifies your story for curation, exposing it to a much larger audience. You can join here. While you’re at it, join the Partner Program (it’s free) for a chance to earn money from your writing.
  • We do accept (and LOVE) submissions from children. These should be submitted via a legal guardian.
  • We prefer original content. This ensures we are not posting duplicate content on Medium. If you would like to cross-post an article to your personal blog, that is okay, but please do not (re)submit past work.
  • New to Medium? We recommend checking out the Creator’s Hub and Distribution Standards for tips on how to create the best content.

Please note: A submission is not guaranteed acceptance simply because it meets all the above criteria. The subject matter, timing, and volume are also factors in our editorial decisions, among other things.
