No one was talking about skin serums a few years ago. Now, there’s a serum for everything. So it’s not surprising that hand serums are an emerging trend. A lot of women feel self-conscious about aging hands, and many brands capitalize off this concern with anti-aging hand serums. That said? Many hand serums are geared toward moisturizing, not helping to improve signs of aging. So keep applying SPF and adjust your expectations accordingly.

What is a hand serum?

A hand serum is a moisturizing product. Typically, they have a lightweight texture. (For something a little more heavy duty, check out my recommendations for best hand creams for dry skin.) Fun fact: the skin on our face tends to be thinner than the rest of our body. So it may make sense to buy body-specific moisturizers. That said? It may be hard to improve signs of aging with topical treatments alone. Do what you can to be informed about the ingredients in your products before you buy — like you’re doing right now by reading this blog!

The best hand serums

I analyzed the ingredients of some of the most popular hand serums for dry skin and anti-aging to find the very best ones. Just a head’s up: some of these products contain potentially pore-clogging ingredients — I’ve noted when this is the case. These should be fine to use on your hands, just avoid touching it to your face, especially if you’re acne-prone. So, with all that said: here are my top 6 hand serums, based on their ingredients.
