When it comes to Instagram, there’s no wrong way to take a selfie. When it comes to your Curology selfies, though, it’s a different ballpark! With a Curology selfie, the goal is to give a clear picture to your medical provider so that they can prescribe the right mix of ingredients for your skin’s needs.

Here’s how to take your Curology selfies the right way.

Tip 1: Take up space. Let your face fill the entire screen! No extreme closeups, and no mirror selfies. Your provider wants to see your full face at once. And keep in mind you’ll be taking 3 shots: one of the front of your face and one for each side.

Tip 2: Go au naturale. Make sure you’re not wearing any makeup and that filters are turned off. While we do enjoy a cat-face filter, your Curology provider wants to see the unaltered state of your skin.

Tip 3: Find your light. Even though our goal is better skin and not likes, that good lighting is one thing your Curology selfie has in common with your regular pics. The easiest way to take a photo with good lighting is to use natural sunlight, but if it’s nighttime or winter in the arctic circle, your best bathroom lighting can do the trick.

Remember that your Curology selfies are confidential — they’re just between you and your provider. We’ll save a copy so you can look back on your progress, but it’s up to you if you want to share them with the world. Whatever you decide, we’re here for you no matter what!
