Across All 50 States, Protesters Say: Enough Is Enough
The Day Democracy Pushed Back
The spirit of the American belief in freedom of speech and “peaceful assembly” was alive and well on April 5, 2025.
On that Saturday, protesters in all 50 states across America (and in cities worldwide), gathered to “stop the most brazen power grab in modern history.”
According to the organization Hands Off! and other media sources, those who showed up to push back against what they view as Donald Trump’s and Elon Musk’s “all-out assault” on the government, other institutions, and individuals’ rights may have “numbered in the millions.”
Will that be enough to make the protesters’ point that “enough is enough”?
The planning of the event
The Hands Off! protests that took place in more than 1,400 locations across the United States on April 5 were planned and supported by a coalition of organizations, including such high-profile advocacy groups as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), MoveOn.org, and the League of Women Voters (LWV).
