Indian ed-tech market has proliferated relatively fast, owing to the advancement in technology coupled with the boom in the IT sector. That said, the major players in the sector such as Khan Academy, Toppscholars, Simplilearn, etc have helped the young students who often face learning challenges in the brick and mortar education system.

The key challenges students face in the traditional learning environment include limitation of personalised learning — they either have to keep up their learning pace with fellow classmates or subject teachers. This often results in students getting disengaged from studies. Result? Adoption of rote learning, merely to score well in exams than actually learn.

Even if we take the country as a whole into consideration, a vast difference can be seen in the education system of rural and urban India. There is no denying the fact that even today, a majority of the Indian population resides in rural areas and yet, these regions are under served when it comes to quality education. The distressing situation of the rural education system can be seen in many forms:

  • Inadequate number of schools
  • Lack of skilled teachers
  • Lack of infrastructure

However, the e-learning apps address the challenges faced by a student and at the same time, help bridge the rural-urban divide through their learner-centric approach.

Toppscholars, for instance, covers all the concepts and curriculum for K-12 students in the form of animated video lectures and digital notes. Since young learners are more inclined towards multimedia content, smart learning apps like these will greatly help them keep interested and engaged in studies. It not only enables students to solve questions but ask them as well. Through ‘Teachers Connect’ feature, they can consult subject matter experts, in case of any doubt.

Harnessing online tools and technology, e-learning apps have undoubtedly widened the scope and reach of information. The animated video lectures evoke all learning senses of a child and facilitate an easy learning process. However, reading comprehension is not overlooked at, and this is where digital notes come into the picture.

What was once considered an inappropriate form of learning, is today regarded as one of the most convenient learning solutions — thanks to the e-learning apps like Toppscholars. They have not only changed the way students learn but also how we perceive education as a whole.
