The Updated Dashboard

You’ll notice visual updates to the Dashboard. This is an outward sign of major changes to the underlying codebase.

We’re now using modern components and patterns that will speed up the release of new features.

Reminder: I don’t have QA testers, just an automated test suite that is doing its best. If a bug appears, send me a tweet or email and I’ll fix it asap.

The StudyCoins Button

I know we’re all excited about this feature because clicks on the button are anonymously logged.

I rarely reduce my own study hours to give Curriculum extra time, but this is one of those special situations.

StudyCoins 1.0 will be released soon 🙌

The Big Dream

Earning StudyCoins will be fun, and an updated UI is nice, but there is a bigger goal in my mind.

Since last year, I’ve been wondering what it would be like if you could organise and display your learning resources however you like in Curriculum.

For example, do you want topic-themed lists of learning items instead of a single study plan? Do you want a learning item to represent a chapter in a book, or the book itself? This should be your choice.

That’s the reason for this big update to how learning items work. The next step will be to make your dashboard components fully configurable.

Warning: Creating custom dashboard components may cost StudyCoins! So get ready to get earning. 😄

Lifelong learner but not yet signed up? If you want to browse the learning resources rated best by others, check out Curriculum. And if you’ve got thoughts or comments, send them my way.
