Design Pattern for Smart City

If consider city as a service cater to people, what is the design pattern for it. The purpose of design pattern is to reproduce the function of it. I simply separated the component of smart cities into three circles and identified their function. People definitely the core of the city and then technology and planning. As you can see in the figure, there are two roles is considered as bridges to fill the gap between the idea and real world, which are tech firm(technology) and government(GOV). On the other hand, research institutes such as NYU CUSP, MetroLab Network …etc. represent the state of art innovation between technology and urban planning. Combining these three roles together then we can build up a smart city.
However, the connection between citizen, technologist, and urbanist is not as strong as enough. That is why we need design pattern to build up a common language between these stack holders then improve the current urban settings.
To achieve the goal, concept in service design and user experience should be included during the communication process. There are more and more interesting to be discovered. I do believe the idea of smart city is closer to us.
