Urban public transportation system

Good transportation is very significant to the success of both individuals and a city. Residents would spend a great deal of time going to and from work without efficient means of transportation. This will make them tired and less productive in their works. Most people may rely on either private or public transportation to bring them to and from work. Therefore, a better public modern transportation system is the key for the development of city.

First of all, better public transportation systems, including buses, trains and subways, will encourage more people to use them rather than drive their own cars. This will reduce the total amount of traffic on the roads and make travel quicker for everyone.

Second, public transportation could save energy and keep the environment cleaner. For example, a bus which carries 100 people is a much more efficient use of fuel than 100 private cars driving the same route. At the same time, less pollution caused by public transportation.

And last but not least, public transportation will become more intelligent. There will be less traffic accidents in the future. As we all know, Google has been working on its driverless car project since 2009. Their car has driven more than 1.7 million miles in autonomous mode. Such greater achievement improved the urban transportation developing.

Good transportation systems make a city cleaner, more efficient and more convenient. This improves everyone’s quality of life and can make the city more prosperous.
