First and foremost, we, the Convergence core team, want to thank each and every one of our first 1000 Twitter followers! Early supporters are the first brick of a strong, grassroots community, so we’re happily marking this milestone.

For this occasion, we will give you a quick overview of our community management strategy, which will structure Convergence’s early days and user base.

From the start, our goal has been to build a strong community of like-minded DeFi enthusiasts who understand Convergence -at least at a conceptual level- and can bring something to the table with suggestions, ideas, or insights. Here’s how we will achieve it:

• At first, the official Discord server will be private. The first batch of community members will comprise around 250 people selected from DAOs that showed their interest in Convergence during the infancy of its development — i.e., the preseed round. We chose to keep a low number to grow the first roots of the community in an agreeable, intellectually challenging environment. They will be able to mint a Soul Bound Token (SBT) associated with perks we’re yet to disclose.
• We will gradually increase the number of members to the 1000 members milestone. We’ll grant access to the server through several means, so we’d advise you to keep a close eye on our publications!
• After reaching the milestone, we will increase the pace at which new users join the fun. Then, when we feel that every question, concern, or suggestion has been adequately addressed, we’ll open the server to the public and kick off our whitelisting process.

This strategy’s goal is not to build a hidden, secretive community but to ensure that our members have a solid understanding of Convergence, a fairly technical and complex protocol.

Regarding whitelisting, we have created an original selection model that will specifically reward those who possess sufficient knowledge about the protocol. Thus, even if you are not among the first ones to get in, you will be able to catch up, as long as you try to learn about Convergence.
