Ever since the kick-off of CyBall Guild League Season 1 on April 11th, scholars have been battling it out, representing each guild to etch their name in CyBall history by climbing to the top of the leaderboard.

Guild Leagues are where the top gaming guilds within CyBall compete against each other to collect $CYB and to be crowned champion of that season.

CyBall will host a Guild League season every now and then, and each season will have its own stories of victory and of triumph.

What is CyBall Guild League Season 1?

Season 1 began on April 11th and is the first season of Guild League, which will run from Monday 11th of April until end of Monday 16th of May (inclusive).

During this period, we have been introducing many more features such as CyLoans V2, flash mentoring, clubs and nicknames to allow for a controlled and steady population growth and onboarding of more players. For the duration of Season 1, guilds can use the Guild Leaderboard on our web-app to track their performance.

Note that only guilds who have submitted their applications and been verified will appear on the Guild leaderboard. No further action is required from the Guild side to participate in this competition. For more information about Guild Verification, please read further below.

Season 2 will start on Tuesday 17th of May. From Season 2 onwards, we intend to match the timeline of every new Guild League season with a new season of mentoring (i.e. new NFT’s arts). Note that some upcoming mentoring seasons may include new card’s borders/frames/backgrounds only, while other arts seasons may also include new CyBloc body parts.

How does the Guild Leaderboard work?

Guild leaderboard tracks guilds’ performance during the season and ranks them accordingly based on their CyBlocs’ win/loss ratio, and then by the total number of participating CyBlocs.

During a season, every CyBloc that a guild owns (in-wallet and/or loaned out) that has played at least one match will be counted and contribute towards the total win/loss as well as total number of CyBlocs of that Guild.

For example, Guild A owns a total of 1000 CyBlocs, of which:

  • 700 are active (have played at least 1 match during that season regardless of whether they were loaned out to scholars or played by the lenders directly)
  • 300 are inactive (have played 0 match)

=> Guild A will have a total of 700 participating CyBlocs for that season, whose individual win/loss will be added together to compile the Guild’s final win/loss and win rate for the leaderboard.

For each season, the top 32 Guilds will get a share of 35,000 $CYB rewards in total:

1st: 8,000 $CYB (22.86%%)

2nd: 4,500 $CYB (12.86%)

3rd: 2,500 $CYB (7.14%)

4th: 1,800 $CYB (5.14%)

5th-6th: 1,500 $CYB (4.29% each)

7th-8th: 1,200 $CYB (3.43% each)

9th-12th: 1,000 $CYB (2.86% each)

13th-16th: 800 $CYB (2.29% each)

17th-24th: 500 $CYB (1.43% each)

25th-32nd: 200 $CYB (0.57% each)

Note: From Season 2 onwards, only Guilds with at least 150 participating CyBlocs during that season will be eligible to receive rewards. Final eligibility is subject to CyBall's sole discretion to avoid bad actors.

How to become a verified Guild within CyBall?

At the overwhelming request of our community, we have now decided to officially verify guilds based on the number of CyBlocs held/mentored.This initiative is to recognise the efforts of guilds who are strong supporters of CyBall and to give recognition to those who are heavily invested in CyBall. If you are a guild manager that currently owns 60 or more CyBlocs in CyBall and would like to be verified, please follow this link to complete the Guild Verification application process (Note: Only for Guild Managers and owners, NOT scholars).

Becoming a CyBall Verified Guild gives you access to many benefits including:

  • Presented with a Guild Badge
  • Access to Private Channel for CyBall Guilds
  • Access to Information and data on CyBall provided by team
  • Invite only Guild tournaments
  • Benefits as a badge holder

The different tiers of Guild Verification are by number of CyBlocs held as follows (To earn each badge, you must have the minimum number of CyBlocs):

  • Recruits: 60 CyBlocs
  • Troopers: 240 CyBlocs
  • Honored Ballers: 600 CyBlocs
  • Challengers: 1200 CyBlocs
  • Distinguished Champions: 3600 CyBlocs
  • Cyverse Elite: 6000 CyBlocs

Rewards for Global Public Leaderboard (Monthly)

The Global Public Leaderboard has been live for a few weeks and has been a great way for individuals to compare themselves to the rest of the pack. Currently, users can sort the Global Public Leaderboard by total wins or by total $CBT earned.

Every month starting from May 1st, we will be tracking the public monthly leaderboard based on total wins to give out rewards to individuals who outperform the rest. The monthly leaderboard starts (and resets) at the 1st of each month.

The (monthly) top 2,000 users will get a share of 35,000 $CYB rewards in total:

1st: 1,800 $CYB (5.14%)

2nd: 750 $CYB (2.14%)

3rd: 600 $CYB (1.71%)

4th-5th: 375 $CYB (1.07% each)

6th-10th: 200 $CYB (0.57% each)

11th-20th: 150 $CYB (0.43% each)

21st-50th: 120 $CYB (0.34% each)

51st-100th: 80 $CYB (0.23% each)

101th-200th: 50 $CYB (0.14% each)

201st-500th: 20 $CYB (0.057% each)

501st-1000th: 10 $CYB (0.029% each)

1001st-2000th: 5 $CYB (0.014% each)

As previously highlighted in our economics update article, we aim to eventually introduce our governance token $CYB as a common rewards token within our ecosystem. $CYB will be rewarded in many special circumstances, in particular, significant contributions to our community. For example, a particular community member’s contributions may clearly stand out to the internal team and will be rewarded from our rewards pool internally.

In the future, as our community and player base continue to grow, the prize pool may also need to be adjusted to suit.

Mentoring Fees and Community Pool NFT Fund Updates

As promised from earlier within the week, we will now be turning the community pool NFT fund’s buy-bot back on with updated parameters to continue to provide more CyLoans opportunities for our community. The bot will now purchase all NFTs subject to the following conditions:

  • CyBlocs with Mentoring Count = 0/3: $180 or lower
  • CyBlocs with Mentoring Count = 1/3: $160 or lower
  • CyBlocs with Mentoring Count = 2/3: $140 or lower
  • CyBlocs with Mentoring Count = 3/3: $120 or lower

The above changes will come into effect immediately i.e. the bot is already up and running with the above parameters.

With the new parameters for the buy bot, we have also decided to readjust the mentoring costs as follows:

The above mentoring costs will come into effect on Tuesday 03 May at 1.00 PM UTC.
