Jax
Born into servitude
The sun was setting upon a horizon and the evening sky was unusually clear for this time of the year. Suddenly, the silence of the night was broken — it was a piercing cry. However, it was a happy occasion. A grounder girl in her early twenties was giving birth. It was a boy and, by the looks of it, a strong and well-adapted one indeed — a joyful occasion for this small grounder community. Even a local moonshine trader provided barrels of his shitty but cheap booze.
Yet, there was no place for joy on the ground, more so in the dead of night. It was the time when nocturnal predators were on the move. Another cry broke the night… this time it was different. It was gloomily followed by the sounds of slashing and gutting. The grounder’s camp was ambushed by a group of bloodthirsty token-seeking scavengers. Drunk and too weak to defend themselves, they were an easy target and slaughtered one after another.
For male grounders, the only mercy was a swift death, but unlucky ones were gruesomely tortured for hours until they would finally bleed to death. However, women and children were taken as slaves — among them was a young baby Jax.
Survivor
Within the first few years, it was clear that Jax’s physic was not troubled by the radiation — he wasn’t weak, but in fact quite the opposite. His strength and endurance were extraordinary. Within this scavenger clan, skillful youngsters were drilled and tutored by the clan’s elite warriors. Their combat and survival skills were polished at an early age because the scavengers’ way of life demanded abundant manpower. Many died during the process, but young Jax was not among them, as he refused to give up. His will was as formidable as his strength, and his determination was unmatched. He was a survivor — a bloody brilliant one.
Costly Freedom
Jax inherited his temper and wits from his mother Jane. She was sickish but strong-willed and could never forget that awful night when she lost her family. After many years of mistreatment, she made an effort to escape the shackles of slavery. However, it was a mistake. Just as she thought that they were free — a gun fired. She hugged Jax and with her last breath, she wanted to scream but could only whisper — “Run!” Not a moment later, Jane fell to the ground and a bloody puddle appeared.
Jax run as fast as he could, and he wasn’t stopping even though he already managed to escape. He also wasn’t scared of the scavengers’ scouts going after him. Something else haunted him — the image of his mother lying dead on the ground. He just couldn’t look back.
A Soldier of Fortune
Young yet partially trained in a combination of his natural body strength and endurance, Jax somehow managed to survive on his own despite the harsh conditions he was facing.
Years were passing by, but he never trusted a single person. Socializing was not his thing. He used his talents and natural abilities for his benefit. His tragic past stripped him of feelings and sympathy. He was completely emotionless — a pristine robot and an unstoppable killing machine.
Soon he became a well-known hitman and an expensive gun for hire. Jax was ruthless and nothing was off the limit. For him, it was just a transaction, a simple business agreement. The way he saw it — at the end of the day, it was better for him to be the one holding the cash than some other mercenary.
It didn’t take long for Jax to be invited to the Cyber Arena. With premium symbtech ready to be ripped off opponents, he just couldn’t refuse this golden opportunity to join and do what he does best — kill!
