Happy Holidays Kongz fam!
As we wind down the year I just want to take moment to thank you all for your support! I joined our Kongz fam right before our CyberKongz VX launch in the middle of August and at that point, the last thing I ever expected was to be writing this weekly newsletter for all of you.
Since then it’s become a very fun part of my life that I look forward to every week and I couldn’t have done it without all of you who make up our Kongmunity 😊
This past week and a half-ish was no exception and it was one for the literal Kongz history books. We not only collaborated with Christie’s x OpenSea for an epic charity auction for Virunga National park but all of our cute Baby Kongz were also born, which is still crazy to say!
We have a lot to catch up on so let’s jump in.

Welkong Home to Kongz Island!

This week the Council of Kongz released a concept preview of Kongz Island, our home and capital city in The Sandbox metaverse, and it literally blew everyone’s minds! With the help of xuanch.eth, the head artist of CryptoCities who created this beautiful concept art, we now have an idea of what Kongz Island, looks like.

When you take a closer look at the model, you’ll see futuristic skyscrapers, renewable energy sources, a mysterious shrine, and windy epic roads all living in peaceful harmony with nature.
Just imagine how much fun it’ll be when we can finally explore our Kongz Island home with all of our CyberKongz VX family.
This wasn’t the only smol leek we received either! It was also announced our 12x12 land Neo Kongz City has been in development by MyReality for the last 3 months.
This is huge news!
MyReality is a metaverse game development studio that has been enshrined in The Sandbox Creator Hall of Fame. They specialize in creating immersive skill-based puzzle games in epic builds so it’ll be very exciting to see how they create Neo Kongz City.
Even though we don’t know much about Neo Kongz City yet, we know it’s where our city Kongz lives. So with city life, I’m assuming we will see the same complexities and mysteries as we see in other large cities around the world 🤔
CyberKongz Charity Auction with Christie’s x OpenSea was an Incredible Success!
Our CyberKongz Charity Auction in collaboration with Christie’s x OpenSea ended in a Kongish success!
Both Genesis CyberKongz were auctioned off for a record amount with the futuristic shades CyberKongz #46 selling for 96.6 ETH to Keungz and our Legendary Skeleton CyberKongz #201 selling for an eye-watering 185 ETH to The Sandbox!
As the auction clock started ticking down, we sat together as a Kongmunity watching on the edge of our seats as a fierce bidding war broke out.
After vicious blows landed by each bidder, Keungz came out victorious against The Sandbox for CyberKongz #46 and The Sandbox sent in the winning bid for the Legendary Skeleton CyberKongz #201 against our own El Chapo who almost pulled out the W.
Tick tock tick tock…..
As the last few seconds began to tick by, the Kongz went literally bananas
We !oohed and ahhed, we danced and shouted, as we watched our legendary Skeleton Kongz become the highest ticket item in the entire Christie’s x OpenSea collection that was auctioned off.
In total 281.6 ETH or over $1.2 million at the time was raised which is an incredible amount that will go towards further protecting our Kongz brothers and sisters as Virunga National Park.
Let’s give a huge round of !oohs and bananas to both Keungz and The Sandbox for winning the auction. Not only do you own two of the best-looking Genesis Kongz now, but the money you helped raise will literally help change lives.
Must Watch Virunga Netflix Documentary
I could sit here and continue to blabber on about how important donations are to Virunga National Park, but the better way is to see for yourself and to learn from first-hand experiences.
I highly recommend all Kongz to take the time to watch this documentary as it gives you a better understanding of the brutal history of the National Park and what they have had to endure for the park to survive.
In this award-winning 1h 40minute long documentary about Virunga National Park, you follow a group of park rangers and an incredibly brave investigative journalist as they come face to face with the outbreak of war while trying to prevent the exploitation of the park’s natural resources by an international oil company.
Even though there has been improvement made since the documentary was released in 2014, it gives you a much clearer sense of the threats the park faces on a daily basis.
Let’s not forget that our Kongz fam of mountain gorillas are not the only animals in Virunga National Park. The park is home to over 1,000 species of animals and it’s the second-largest rainforest in the world.
Unfortunately, because of where its located and its abundance of resources (both natural and animal life), the park is constantly threatened by war, poaching, and opportunistic companies looking to exploit the natural resources under the park.
Donations such as the ones from us CyberKongz help to support the animals and also the 689 rangers who are the guardians and caretakers of the National Park.
A Kong Friendly Bet for Virunga National Park
Every day there are small gestures that happen in our kongmunity which reminds me of why we have the best one!
As there are no more Baby Kongz left to be born and nothing for us to look forward to in Kongz Laboratory, Yeo announced a friendly wager for a good cause and for some fun.
If anyone donated $10,000 to the Virunga National Park charity they would open 2 incubators. On top of that, if a legendary CyberKongz VX was pulled they would sell it and half the proceeds would also be given to the national park!
Just minutes later, the legendary Pirateed made the donation and the baby rolling fun began!
Thanks again to Pirateed for this kind gesture and to Yeo for allowing us to relive our Baby Kongz breeding fun again. Here are the Baby Kongz and CyberKongz VX that were rolled 😊
The Great Baby Squeeze of December 2021
Remember, remember the 14th of December.
What a bitter-sweet moment in Kongz history as all of our cute Baby Kongz were born in the span of a crazy few fomo inducing and hectic hours in the afternoon of December 14 PST.
This day marked the end of an epic era in Kongz history and kongratulations to Myoo and the team for guiding our Kongz family to this incredible milestone!
I’m truly grateful that I was there to witness this special moment and it’s something I’ll never forget. I bet every other Kongz who was there would agree with this too 😊
On this day, Kongz from far and wide made their journey back home for this momentous occasion and they all met up in the Kongz Laboratory to join in on the countdown together. As we got closer and closer to the last Baby Kongz being born, the Kongz went crazy!
It was definitely a mixed bag of emotions for all of us who were there.
On one hand, we were all extremely happy to see the last Baby Kongz being born as it meant the start of a new era for us CyberKongz. However, the Kongz Laboratory and breeding new Baby Kongz have been a huge part of our community for so long that it was of course sad to see come to an end.
After it was all over, an incredible 89 Baby Kongz were born on the day and our lucky Franklin was able to breed our very last Baby Kong, #5000. He eventually sold it for just over 16 ETH to artic so a big kongrats to Franklin for minting our last Baby Kong and for the sale 😊
What’s more amazing is that even after this mad dash to breed and claim the remaining Baby Kongz, we still have not found the last remaining Legendary CyberKongz VX!
This means that somewhere out in our jungle, the Legendary CyberKongz VX is still hiding in one of our unclaimed incubators or Baby Kongz 😱
As this era has officially come to a close, here are some fun and interesting stats from our Baby Kongz breeding era (thanks as always to our data wizard banterlytics.eth for compiling the numbers).
- 296 wallets minted a Baby Kong
- The most from a single wallet was 253
- 5 wallets minted 100+ Baby Kongz
- 18 wallets minted 50+ Baby Kongz
CyberKongz x Solarbots Partnership Announced!
What an epic day December 14th was in our Kongiverse. In addition to all our Baby Kongz being born, another huge partnership was announced and this time it’s with the highly anticipated Solarbots!
If you missed the announcement, Solarbots is an exciting upcoming play-to-earn game that is building an incredibly complex metaverse with beautiful enchanting lore all built within a well-thought-out and realistic economy.
Not to mention, our own Coco Bear and Owl are advisors for the project so you know this project is one to pay attention to.
Although, I’m not an expert when it comes to play and earn games, what I really admire about Solarbots is that their goal is to create a truly immersive story that will give us all an opportunity to find meaning in the game.
This means that whether you want to become a skilled pilot who goes head to head with the corruption of the Abyss, help craft and build the items that will help the fighters in battle, or if you just want to explore the world, you’ll all find a place in the plane of Eld.
Pretty cool and very exciting if you ask me.
Of course, I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet! Since this is an official partnership, we also get some CyberKongz only benefits including the following too:

- Usage of CyberKongz Avatar in-game which will be rendered through a full pixel art Pilot player character in the Solarbots metaverse

I’m not going to ruin the surprise and tell you exactly where to find this history, but let’s just say after reading the story of Princess Saint Yani Sarh, I still vividly remember her beautiful yet disturbing story in detail.

CyberKongz VX 3D Models Taking Over the World!
Our CyberKongz VX 3D models continue to pop up in random locations all around the world and they’re looking insane!! 🔥 🔥
Not to pump my own 3D VX bag, if there is such a thing, but having ordered one myself, I have to say the wonderful team at Shapeways is doing an incredible job of manufacturing our CyberKongz VX into 3D voxel models. It’s hard to show it in photos, but the detail and colors of each model are very impressive.
Thanks again to our team of mad kong scientists who gave us the 3D print files and made this process so easy and seamless.
Don’t forget either that our kind @Coco__Bear is still offering a reward of 11 $BANANA to the first 200 people to Tweet a photo of their 3D VX model and post a link to the Tweet in our #Verified-Channel.

WSK in Review — Worst Trades of the Year
Since it’s the holiday season I wanted to do something fun.
Instead of the usual “best trades of the week” in today’s issue, we’re going to go over the 10 worst trades of the year (at least from when I became a Kong which was in the middle of August) 😜
Then, to round this all off, I’ll cover the 10 best trades of the year in the next issue of the weekly.
Even though many incredible calls, trades, and moves are made in WSK on a daily basis, there have also been some extremely questionable trades, to say the least.
For those of you not in WSK, there is a reason why we have multiple messages pinned in the WSK channel reminding everyone to DYOR and to not blindly ape into everything members in WSK recommend.
So, cover your eyes and let’s have some fun. Here are the 10 worst trades of the year (since August at least)!
Just a quick note about this list:

- There were other questionable trades too, but I chose these ones as they were the most memorable, at least for me.

- I still think these look pretty cool, but I’ve never been the best art investor.

- I still remember how promising these were.

- This was right in the middle of DAO craziness in early October. Too bad the turtles didn’t make it as they were pretty smol.
