CyberMiles Community Update (mid-August 2018)
COSCUP and Lity and Noomi, oh my!
1. The Noomi Wallet Now Set for Release
Noomi’s beta test this month was a great success thanks to the valuable input from all of our participants.
What is Noomi? It’s a new digital wallet developed by First Odyssey to be a comprehensive tool for crypto enthusiasts and their friends. You can use Noomi to store, track, transfer, and discuss cryptocurrency within one intuitive app.
For beta testers, Noomi will send an email to those who are eligible to redeem 300 CMTs, so be sure to check your email if you participated!
We’re planning to officially release the Noomi wallet by Oct. 15, 2018. Visit noomiwallet.com to add yourself to the waitlist to download the app or to be notified when the Noomi wallet launches in app stores.
2. Learning the New Lity Language
CyberMiles recently announced the development of Lity, a new programming language for building blockchain-based smart business contracts. To help our community get familiar with Lity and the CyberMiles virtual machine, we’ve introduced a #CVM mini-series to explain the features and how to get started using it.
Check out the first in our four-part series: Getting Started with Lity
3. Our Exploring the CyberMiles Ecosystem Series Continues
Last month we introduced an ongoing #CMusecase series, covering practical applications of CyberMiles’ blockchain technology.
Our latest, Virtual goods in today’s (crypto)economy, delves into making assets programmable, fungible vs. non-fungible, and the ERC 20 and ERC 721 token standards. To stay on top of this series, be sure to follow us on Medium.
4. The Bad Crypto Podcast Interviewed CyberMiles’ Chief Scientist
When blockchain and cryptocurrency rule the world — and people no longer use fiat currency because, well, paper money is extinct — how will electronic transactions function? That was a topic of conversation as Dr. Michael Yuan, CyberMiles’ Chief Scientist, was interviewed about the future of retail. (CyberMiles, for its part, is building a blockchain specifically for e-commerce.) Listen to The Bad Crypto Podcast’s latest episode.
5. The CyberMiles Team Unveiled Lity at COSCUP
The Conference for Open Source Coders, Users and Promoters, an annual conference held by Taiwanese open source community participants since 2006, is a major force in the free software advocacy movement in Taiwan.
This year, the CyberMiles team who developed Lity, our new programming language, was invited to the Aug. 11–12 event to explain the technology behind Lity and the CyberMiles virtual machine.
By all accounts, they received the attention and support of the majority of programmers in attendance, and the response to Lity and the CVM was enthusiastic. Onwards and upwards!
