CyberMiles Community Update (mid-March 2018)
1. Mark Cuban Touts 5miles, CyberMiles Token (CMT)
5miles, the CyberMiles-affiliated online marketplace, is partnering with the Dallas Mavericks, a popular NBA basketball team. As part of the deal, 5miles will enable Mavs fans to purchase tickets with CMT.
Beginning in the 2018–19 season, the Mavs will be one of the first teams in the NBA to accept various forms of cryptocurrency for tickets and merchandise. Billionaire tech entrepreneur and Mavs owner Mark Cuban talked about the new partnership, including his vision for cryptocurrency.
2. CyberMiles to Release TestNet March 30
March 30 is the date that the initial version of the CyberMiles blockchain for developers will go online. An important milestone for CyberMiles, it will lay the groundwork for the main net that is expected to go online later this year. The testnet will be geared towards developers who are looking to build e-commerce applications on the CyberMiles blockchain. 3. CyberMiles to Partner with DATx, CyberVein
CyberMiles is partnering with DATx, pioneer of blockchain intelligent ads ecosystem. As both sides are committed to e-commerce solutions, DATx will join CyberMiles testnet later this month.
CyberVein, a decentralized system for data management, also has engaged CyberMiles for ICO advisory services. The hot project is conducting a private sale, raising part of the funds in CMT.
A host of other projects are eyeing CMT for their upcoming ICOs, too, including Hoofoo, the first hackproof cryptocurrency wallet, and Lemochain, a decentralized, industry-oriented cross-application data circulation infrastructure that connects blockchain technology with the business world.
4. SXSW 2018 All About Cryptocurrency, eSports
Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology are the topics du jour, according to inverse.com, at this week’s South by Southwest in Austin. Among the featured sessions are how to build a business on the blockchain and how the technology will build a decentralized world. (Perfect timing.)
5. New General Counsel Joins the CyberMiles Foundation
CyberMiles welcomes Maggie Guan as in-house general counsel. Maggie joins the CyberMiles Foundation from respected law firm, Shearman & Sterling, where she advised clients on private equity transactions and offerings, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory and compliance matters in jurisdictions such as Hong Kong and New York.
