When CyberMiles unveiled Lity, our new programming language for building blockchain-based “smart business contracts,” we instinctively — and excitedly —knew that a more flexible/extensible (liquid) and better performing (combustable) developer offering is a game-changer in blockchain 3.0 era.

Service + Trust = CyberMiles

As we’ve covered in the other parts of the series, Lity is putting the smart in smart contracts with unparalleled safety, extensibility, schedulability, and e-commerce functionality at its core. But beyond Lity’s dynamically-extensible language, compiler (Lityc), and CyberMiles’ virtual machine (CVM), a couple of less tangible benefits underscore Lity’s value to the developer community.

  • Service. CyberMiles, as an open source, public blockchain, can provide customized services that include, in addition to our technology (Lityc, CVM and smart business contracts), marketing and business operations.
  • Trust. Behind Lity is a capable, experienced and well-rounded team that you can trust to bring blockchain 3.0 to fruition.

In CyberMiles entrust
One of the crucial advantages of the CyberMiles blockchain is the team that made it happen, a global contingent of talented technologists and visionaries.

The CyberMiles team, at your service

Dr. Lucas Lu (C.E.O.), an e-commerce veteran and serial entrepreneur, founded the 5miles marketplace in 2014. Previously a co-founder and C.T.O. of LightInTheBox, which went public in 2013 on the N.Y.S.E., Dr. Lu also was the first general manager of Alibaba’s Taobao Mobile platform.

Dr. Michael Yuan (Chief Scientist), a noted author of several books on software development, was an active code committer in large open source projects such as Fedora, Firefox, and JBoss. Dr. Yuan is an expert on enterprise and mobile software and was a principle investigator on U.S. government-funded research projects.

Timothy McCallum (Core Developer), a specialist in FinTech programming and blockchain implementation for business, was named an AMP Tomorrow Maker in 2015. A celebrated mentor of the Google Summer of Code, Timothy was a special guest of Google in 2014, collaborating with software developers from around the world and on finance data migration for local government.

Alex Lau (Core Developer), whose nickname online is AvengerMoJo, is a blockchain consultant for WeBank and 5miles. A former C.T.O. of Symbio Mobile, Alex has worked at Nortel Network in the U.S. and as an R&D manager at SUSE Linux in China and Taiwan, where he became a ceph distributed filesystem expert.

Robert Li (C.T.O.), whose background includes broad technical and managerial experience in e-commerce, joined The CyberMiles Foundation after successful stints as lead engineer at eBay, senior R&D manager at eBay’s China Development Center, and at Google in Shanghai.

Dr. Marc Fleury (Advisor), a pioneer in software freedom and the business of decentralization, created JBoss, an open-source Java application server. Formerly an E.V.P. of Red Hat Inc., Dr. Fleury also is an early thought leader and investor in cryptocurrencies.

What are you waiting for?
The CyberMiles team developed Lity and the CVM in order to bring necessary blockchain features to answer real-world needs, features that hardly exist — or are absent altogether — in leading blockchain projects like Ethereum.

With Library + Ethereum Native Interface (libENI) functions that are optimized for privacy-protecting, PKI-based encryption, Lity offers advanced functionality for common e-commerce scenarios, decentralized applications (DApps), and customized blockchains.
