What is this all about?

This newsletter is an irregular collection of the most interesting news from the tech and startup world I came across in the last couple of weeks, prepared and bite-sized for your reading pleasure.

It will mostly cover topics around #technology #startups #deeptech #neurotech #ai #robotics #decentalization #lifescience #healthtech #complexity #cybernetics #constructivism and #futurism, but also include some funny or otherwise noteworthy stuff from time to time.

Why cybernetic 8? Learn more about this worldview here, here or here.

Here we go — the Cybernetic 8 in November

  • We closed the last issue with the notion of digital immortality. We are still around All saints day, so here is an article with some more background on that, including #neurotech and #bciLINK
  • There’s a group of people that seem to be interested in developing first use cases around digital preservation, and it’s… actors! — LINK
  • But not only the #technology is an issue in digital immortality, also, the #legal and #moral frameworks need to be established — LINK
  • Talking about #moral issues… Animals suffer a lot for the production of human #food. How about some slaughter-free meat? — LINK
  • #Startups will play a huge role in defining how the future of #food will look like. Here is an intersting article from HAX, including ideas on #agriculture and #waste management concepts — LINK
  • In #transport and #logistics, #autonomous driving is a big issue. Rolls Royce tries to stay afloat with a concept for autonomous ships — LINK
  • The Financial Times published an interesting article on human/robot cooperation, the concept of hybrid decision-making and why they think we are not so bad off as a #human race, at least not yet — LINK
  • Here is an interesting interview with Brad Porter, the VP of #robotics at Amazon talking about their strategy and next steps — LINK

Anything else?

Sure, as always. ;) By now, you should have discovered my soft spot for robotics. Watch this Boston Dynamics robot #dance to the #beat:
