Is it necessary to change the paradigm in cybersecurity?
Definitely YES.

We need to change our approach to cybersecurity. Traditionally, we have focused on controls and barriers such as firewalls, antivirus, and access policies. These measures are essential, but attackers are becoming increasingly sophisticated and threats more dynamic. They are constantly looking for new vulnerabilities. An approach based solely on controls is no longer enough in this context. We need to adopt a resilient mindset and shift from prevention to adaptation.

As we move towards a more connected future, the question is not if we will be victims of a cyber attack but when and how we will prepare to face it.

Cybersecurity focuses on protection and defense against threats, but cyber resilience goes beyond that. It is not just about preventing attacks or setting higher barriers. It is about how organizations and individuals adapt and respond to inevitable incidents, recover normalcy, and learn and evolve from those experiences. Cyber resilience prepares us to face challenges, adapt, and move forward.

The transformation towards effective cyber resilience is not a mere option but necessary in the era of Artificial Intelligence and constant technological change. Adopting a resilient mindset, focused on preparation, adaptability, and continuous learning, is crucial. We must recognize that security incidents are inevitable, but our ability to react and recover quickly really counts. This proactive approach to cybersecurity protects and empowers our organizations to evolve and thrive in the face of challenges.
