After a successful pilot, we are excited to announce that we are hosting a second cohort at the Cybersecurity Factory in Cambridge, MA. The Cybersecurity Factory, a 10-week summer program targeting academics in top US research universities, is designed to help researchers launch a security company. We are partnering with Highland Capital to provide the teams with the following:

  • $20,000 investment as a generous convertible note
  • Office space in Cambridge, MA in the Highland Capital office
  • Mentorship and network of security entrepreneurs and industry leaders from companies including Box, Imprivata, Akamai, IBM, Cisco, and Qualys

Each team will work with security leaders and potential customers to fine-tune their idea and produce a marketable prototype. Here are stories from the two teams that participated in our program last year: Aikicrypt and Oblivilock.

This year, we are introducing a pilot program where a team will work closely with an industry partner to produce a relevant security solution. We will provide more information when we finalize the details.

If you are excited about turning security ideas into marketable product, we would love for you to apply to our program. Applications will open January 5, 2016! For more information and updates, please visit our site and follow us on Twitter.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email us at team@cybersecurityfactory.com.
