It’s hard to leverage the internet. Most people do not know websites that they should know. Sometimes people find an important site or app years later and regret for not knowing about it earlier. People are missing on the best tools, useful content and life-changing opportunities available to them, resting a few clicks away.

It’s hard to make the most out of web

It is hard to be productive online and leverage the internet. I think there are two reasons why most of the people end up doing the same activity on web everyday instead of spending time on better things.

First, people are habitual of a few websites (read social networks) and spend an enormous amount of time there everyday. As we all know this primarily consists of checking feed, notifications and the inbox. In-fact most internet companies craft their products according to the thorough research that has been done on the human brain and consumer psychology. Their ultimate goal is to create the most addictive product possible. To understand and appreciate this fact, I will recommend you to read The Science of Habit-Forming Products by Nir Eyal.

And secondly there is an information overload these days. The web is full of ads, promotional content, spam and what not. Companies are targeting potential users across all channels — social media, blogs, emails, newspapers, TV, podcasts, and everything you can think of. Thousands of new sites, apps and companies are being launched everyday. People go confused about what to try and what to ignore. People don’t know what (or whom) to follow. Most of them end up using the same products they know because researching and exploring the best is hard, and often is out of their comfort zone.

Information overload on the web can sometimes cause more harm than good.

Doing more on the web

In the real world, to do more you need to know the right people and places in your town. It’s the same online. You have to follow the right people and know the right places. If you know the right sites, apps, products and people, the web actually has the potential to take you places. It’s a modern tool that you need to learn and leverage well in order to grow, compete and win.

Most of the successful people are just awesome at using the internet! The unsuccessful ones — not so much.

The idea of ‘Exploring The Internet’

The idea is to ‘live the internet’. The goal should be to ‘make the most out of it in the minimum possible time’. Newbie programmers must know what tools and tutorials their peers and other pioneer programmers follow. Budding entrepreneurs must know about the possible opportunities for their companies available online. There’s something nice for everyone.

There’s is a lot available on the web that you desperately need but don’t know. So, don’t make your every day the same online. Make the best out of it. Stop missing opportunities. Search, discover and explore the best of the web everyday.

It’s the Internet. Knowledge is Power.

Enabling Exploration

There is one problem. It is hard to explore. In particular, it is hard to find the best of the web at one place. This is why we’re excited about this medium publication where we intend to tell you the best of the web at one place. And this is essentially why we’re building CybrHome — the world’s largest organized database of websites. This is what we want to do every single day. To enable and empower you online.

Happy browsing! :)
