Welcome our CTO, Mathew Yap!
We are happy to announce that Mathew Yap joins Cynopsis as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Mathew was involved in the early stages of Cynopsis in building our core Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products and has been our Advisor since the early days. He now joins us formally to provide strategic leadership in the growth and development of our technology and engineering functions. Mathew will also work closely with the traceto.io team as they build out the decentralised KYC protocol for the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Mathew has over twenty years of working experience in a variety of roles particularly in software engineering, support, testing product management and business development. Prior to management, his engineering roles covered a good spectrum such as lecturer, evangelist (pre-sales), developer, solution and software architect.
Before joining Cynopsis, Mathew is the Co-founder and CTO of Sakae Fintech Pte Ltd. He has also founded Workspoon Pte Ltd and AlternateMedia International Pte Ltd.
With over two decades of hands-on experience in Silicon Valley or US companies such as Equinix, Savi, ATG and Creative, Mathew managed a number of software development teams for fifteen years mostly in MNCs (such as Equinix, Savi Technology) where he has been instrumental in delivery and heavily involved in crystallizing innovative projects in the emerging technologies.
During his term at Equinix, Savi Technology, he led big scale projects where he managed the Product Engineering team in Singapore and acted as delivery manager for projects in India in Equinix to establish multiple platforms to enable customers (e.g. enable them to place online orders, interconnect, minimize wastage, increase up time, etc). He also acted in various mix of roles from tech lead to project manager in customer projects with Mindef, Dow Chemical, and various departments in US DoD Savi Technology. He also managed the 24x7 Continued Engineering team in Equinix and Sustaining team in Savi to provide code level support for live projects.
Mathew graduated from National University of Singapore with MSc in Computing and a BSc in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University where he published 3 papers and was offered A-Star studentship to study for PhD. He is also a Certified SCRUM Master and Project Manager and Certificate in Higher Education issued by Singapore Polytechnic.
With the rich experience that Mathew brings to the Cynopsis and traceto.io team, we are confident to scale greater heights and be a step closer to our vision of regulatory inclusion for all.
