Cosmos

On March 10th Cosmos released their new engineering newsletter, sharing the latest technical developments for the Cosmos network. A major proposal that made the rounds is the integration of the IBC contracts which passed. On the same day, Cosmos released an update for Gaia v4.1.0. The update came after a security concern from earlier in the month.

Regen Network

In a recent post from Gitcoin, it was announced that Regen Network is participating in a Green NFT Hackathon with Gitcoin from March 22nd to April 23rd. To sign up for the hackathon and learn more information check out their announcement here.

Akash Network

On March 3rd Akash Network announced an integration with Equinix Metal, one of the world’s largest data centers colocation provider. This will let developers decentralize their cloud infrastructure for the first time through the Akash Mainnet. That same week Akash Mainnet 2 went live, marking another exciting milestone for them! In honor of the mainnet launch, Chainnode is lowering their staking fee to encourage $AKT staking to 0 percent through April 15th. As of March 12th, Akash is listed on Gate.io one of the top ten global exchanges. In an announcement from OmniFlix, they announced the successful launch of OmniFlixTV for Cosmos running on the Akash Network.

Iris Network

The beginning of March brought on the IRIS Network’s birthday. IRIS retweeted a congratulatory tweet celebrating the network’s second anniversary of their mainnet launch. With that, the team shared a tweet from Keplr Wallet announcing that $IRIS was now natively supported on Keplr. IRIS also recently announced the 11th implementation of a community-centric delegation campaign, and double delegation rewards have been distributed. With all the exciting news, IRIS users can also expect the launch of Coinswap Web Application towards the end of March. Following the announcement, IRIS also revealed that users can build their own NFT business in Uptick.

Celo

Celo recently announced at the beginning of the month that they would be donating $20,000 in USDc to Brazil in order to support the fight against climate change and social injustice. Compound Labs announced a prototype based on the Compound Chain whitepaper, and Celo is one of the participating networks. The announcement came at the start of the month noting that “Since Celo is fully EVM compatible, much of the work needed to bridge to Celo can be reused from the Ethereum effort”. Also at the start of the month, Celo announced that Celo Camp was open for applications, it provides education and mentoring opportunities to users. Another exciting event taking place came with the announcement of the launch of their Hackathon campaign, Make It Mobile on Gitcoin. The event will run from March 5 to April 14! Dacade announced a partnership with Celo. Dacade will act as a hub for Celo, which will allow Celo to grow its network through peer-to-peer challenges and education. Celo Wallet for desktop was released on March 4th which allows more token holders to get another apset of utility. The app will be available for mac, windows, and linux and along with other features will offer stronger security. A new round of Governance proposals was also released then as well, bringing on new updates possible validator improvements, and the activation of cEUR.

Skale

On March 3rd SKALE announced support for the network on MetaMask, a new Custom Network API. The network allows developers to recommend chains to their followers and then the chains are added to their menus so they can flip between them using the switching menu. The following day SKALE announced the Minds, a decentralized social media network, was moving over to the SKALE network. Minds give out Mind tokens to users participating in their network and picked SKALE because of the network’s flexibility and zero gas costs. Recently SKALE was picked by Human Protocol to be a part of their bakeoff while they move their labor pools over to SKALE. On March 9th SKALE joined Coinbase Pro. Coinbase announced the addition in a March 9th tweet, saying that SKALE among other projects was available for inbound transfers in certain regions. The tweet also shared that with trading that was set to begin on March 11. The day trading was set to begin SKALE hit the top ten crypto-assets on Staking Rewards.

Wanchain

On March 3rd Wanchain announced a listing for WanSwap on CoinMarketCap. WanSwap enables uses to have rapid cross-chain asset trading at less than 1000 Ethereum. On March 9th Wanchain announced the debut of “Universal Multi-chain Bridges with Shared Staking Assets” the first-ever decentralized bridge between Bitcoin and Ethereum. The bridge introduces a shared staking asset power the same collateral pool, and of course, the direct bridge will allow users to transfer Bitcoin to the Ethereum network without requiring Wanchain as a router.
