Well as life has it, all good things must come to an end eventually and after a full year of absolutely hitting each issue out of the park, Andy Boyan, Ph.D. has stepped down from doing this piece. Don’t freight though, he’ll still be around Cypher Core, either sharing memes, giving us 100001 ideas for projects or just giving me advice on how to be a better professional. Either way, you guys are stuck with me now so enjoy.

Major Updates

Akash Network

The Akashian Challenge is alive and well! Phase 1 to Akash’s incentivized testnet is currently live and there’s a ton of exciting rewards at stake within each phase. This 8-week challenge will operate under three phases; (1) Node operations, (2) Provider operations, (3) Developer operations. With each phase delivering a plethora of incentive and excitement I highly recommend you check out how to get involved within this dope initiative. To learn more about the Akashian Challange and how you can get involved check out their blog page.

Enigma

After announcing SafeTrace last month, their privacy-focused data-sharing platform for contact tracing (think Covid here), the team recently announced the release of a functional MVP demo of the platform including a full video. With the demo, they dropped some other interesting news for SafeTrace like their new collaboration with the TCN Coalition. The team also announced their participation in Cosmos’ latest exciting development “Game of Zones”, introducing their Secret Zone which is pretty sweet.

IRISnet

IRISnet’s enterprise solution IRITA has been chosen by BSN to support Cosmos’ ecosystem and this is pretty huge if you know exactly what the BSN initiative is. If you don’t I’d highly recommend you take a quick dive and get up to speed on the basics there. With that huge development, IRISnet also announced an integration with ChainLink for an “Oracle” module on the IRIShub.

Persistence

Persistence released a detailed blog focusing on their prime focus area, Open Finance, and highlighted the approach to bring traditional Financial Products Open, Trustless Platforms while removing all of the complexities of using public blockchains. Persistence also announced their support for the Ambassador Program launched by Cosmos India. The program aims to grow the adoption of Cosmos’ ecosystem and identify talented developers. Keep up the great work guys.

Regen Network

the kontraŭa ComsWasm Testnet ended recently which came with a really great turnout. With over 78 validators in participation, and over 143 PRs received you could say a lot of progress was made. With that, there was an issued update to their upcoming Q2 projections which includes a ton of insight for what the team has in store for us.

Quick Hits

Aragon

Aragon had a fairly busy month, from a refresher to their brand’s image (new logo, fonts, etc) to having several ecosystem developments with new projects expanding their presence on their platform. Like Pocket Network launching their Pocket DAO and meTokens introducing Synthetic Labor.

Althea

Announced new network setups in Independence, OR; Sicamous, BC; and Knappa, OR. These announcements are always pretty sick as it literally shows real-world adoption at a fairly large scale, as with each network setup correlates to communities/neighborhoods in need of a reliable ISP.

Band Protocol

Band recently announced a partnership with Atomic wallet. Atomic is pretty good, used to be a huge fan until their payment processor, Simplex dropped the ball on a minor transaction for me (but we’re not here for that). All and all this is a pretty cool move as you can now purchase Band tokens with your debit card in a fairly secure environment.

Cyber Congress

Cyber Congress has officially kicked off their Takeoff Donation Round, in a call for support from the community the team has decided to initiate this round after building their growing product for some time now. This is a cool way to get involved in something different and help a team that’s been a long time supporter of the greater Cosmos ecosystem.

Everett Protocol

Keplr v0.5.3 is live for Chrome and Firefox, check it out!

Desmos Network

Forbole’s social network protocol is going through phase 4 of their incentivized testnet. #CatchMeOnMooncake

IOV

4 character premium names were being auctioned off on opensea.io for a while with all proceeds going to APHP Hospitals. Personally hoping this had a good turnout. Either way, good on them for looking out.

Kava Labs

Kava is running a promotion for BNB holders.

Summary

These project updates were researched from git repos and project blogs. If you have a project that’s active but not listed here, please reach out to us so I can make sure your update is included in future posts. Cypher Core is dedicated to the Cosmos ecosystem and community and is here to help as a validator, as well as to help projects solve business needs like getting your project the sunshine it needs to thrive.

Until next time.
