Akash

Akash had some big announcements this month following the launch of Akash MAINNET 2 last month. Developers can launch DeFi apps, blogs, nodes, and games including Minecraft! Minecraft is the fifth most played game in the world and now users can play on Akash! Other games being played on Akash include Minesweeper, Snake, Pac-man, SuperMario, and Doom. Akash also announced new partnerships this month including CertiK and HashQuark. CertiK, a leading blockchain and smart contract cybersecurity firm, and Akash will work together to expand the capabilities of Web3 to enable developers to build faster, with more freedom and security, and at a lower cost. More info on this partnership, including an interview with Cypher Core’s very own Jay Jie, can be found on their Medium page. HashQuark will help Akash vastly expand its network while ensuring security and paving the way for a more enabling public blockchain ecology.

Band Protocol

Another month, another five new partnerships for Band Protocol. Month after month, Band has landed huge new partnerships such as Yieldwatch, Graviton, ICONFi, Krystal, and Injective Protocol in April. Band Protocol has also integrated into Google Cloud Public Data to enable immediate and accurate analysis of financial time series data. The updates will help Band with their goal to continuously and rapidly expand the support of data available on BandChain — pushing the use-cases far beyond just Web 3 alongside many enterprises.

Bitsong

Bitsong gave an update after the first 15 days of its Mainnet launch. They reported that the network has reached about 240 thousand blocks and 3300 transactions carried out, with 57 validators constantly active. Bitsong also has a Delegation Campaign to help activate the community with four rounds on 5M BTSG’s to be delegated to contributor validators. Curious about how to stake your BTSG? Check out their new How to Stake Guide on their Medium page!

CertiK

In the beginning of the month CertiK added some features to the CertiK Security Board which is a one-stop-shop for DeFi security. By combining pre-deployment auditing records, on-chain monitoring, and social sentiment, the Leaderboard provides a holistic view of a project’s real-time security. This is an extremely helpful tool and allows their security expertise to be freely accessible to everyone and I would encourage everyone to check it out! CertiK also had two big partnership updates this month, including one with Convergence Finance to ensure the security of their protocol and wider ecosystem and AmaZix. AmaZix will be providing projects with community management CertiK’s end-to-end security, marketing, and legal advisory. CertiK is always sharing their security knowledge and tips with the community, and this month they published an educational piece on timelocks and rugpulls to inform users on the risks and what to look out for which is a must-read.

Persistence

After the launch of The Persistence Core-1 Mainnet on March 30th, Persistence has now launched the Persistence Foundation Validator Delegations Program, inviting all interested parties to run a validator node for Persistence to further decentralization and foster the growth of an active and committed validator ecosystem. The Persistence Foundation will delegate a share of XPRT tokens to validators who demonstrate commitment to adding value to the Persistence ecosystem. They invite any interested parties to their new validator-specific channel on Discord to learn more. They also released their StakeDrop rewards where participants will be able to stake their XPRT token rewards for 35%+ APR. Check out their new staking guide to find out more!

Sentinel

After the big partnership and their migration to Cosmos announcements last month, they announced that bandwidth sharing will become available for testing on the Sentinel Turing-4 Cosmos IBC-enabled testnet in May. Sentinel wrote that if testing goes according to plan, the Sentinel network should migrate to IBC mainnet by May 24th. Sentinel’s DVPN token is also now available on MXC Exchange! After last month’s marketing partnership with Washman and Winkryto, this month they have partnered with StrongBlock to “strengthen the Sentinel network by increasing its bandwidth and reliability for dVPN users seeking security and decentralization,” said Srinivas Baride, CTO of Exidio, a core contributor to the Sentinel network. Sentinel has had a big year so far with more progress to come!

Agoric

In Agoric’s recap of their first phase of the Incentivized Testnet they reported that; 6,300 community members applied, 140 of the 150 participants set up validators, and Phase 1 showed that the technology is solid and the community of practice around it is well-established. The Testnet was well received and received a lot of praise from the community! The Testnet will help secure the network, train and prep validators, and grow the community. This comes after the successful major upgrade from alpha to beta release of their SDK. This is a very exciting project with a lot of hype!

IRISnet

IRISnet came off a huge month in March and kept the progress rolling through April. On the 15th, IRISnet launched and started the trial of their web app for their AMM module Coinswap. The release includes Coinswap web App and updates on the infrastructure of IRIS Hub and Rainbow wallet. A guide on how to use it, as well as an FAQ, can be found on their Medium page. After a security vulnerability was identified in Tendermint Core, they released irishub v1.1.1 with the vulnerability fixed. They confirmed that user funds are safe. At the end of the month, IRIS Foundation announced their New One-Year Ecosystem Development Program which includes The Application Ecosystem Support Plan, Eco-Development Funds Community Management Plan, The Validator Reward Program, and Technology and Community Grants Programs. The new program will help put more resources to boost community autonomy and engagement and accelerate ecosystem expansion through more flexible methods.

Summary

These project updates were researched from git repos and project blogs. If you have a project that’s active but not listed here, please reach out to us so I can make sure your update is included in future posts. Cypher Core is dedicated to the Cosmos ecosystem and community and is here to help as a validator, as well as to help projects solve business needs like getting your project the sunshine it needs to thrive.

Until next time.
