CertiK Foundation

CertiK completed another round of AMA’s with various DeFi projects this month including TEN Finance, DeFi Yield Protocol, and HOGE. CertiK also announced an integration with CoinMarketCap so that users will have instant access to the security audits from the metrics page of the token! CTK is now listed on Liquid Exchange, one of the largest crypto exchanges in Japan enabling users to trade freely between fiat and crypto. There was also a live-streaming event hosted by Binance Smart Chain (BSC) with a guest speaker from CertiK where they discussed security risks in DeFi. You can check out the recap on CertiK’s medium channel! CertiK continues to audit a ton of projects with the goal of helping secure the Defi ecosystem and protect users.

Band Protocol

Band reported that the total number of oracle requests on the BandChain decentralized oracle network continued to grow this month and surpassed 5,880,223 requests due to increased price feed support and new partners. Early May 2021, they launched GuanYu testnet #4 (v1.2.7a) as a part of the migration test for BandChain Phase 2 with our validators which makes them one step closer to the main network. CosmoScan now supports BandChain Phase 2 features for on-chain revenue collection for premium data sources and providers. This will be available on the Laozi public testnet coming up next month. As always, Band reported a number of new partnerships in May including CREAM Finance, Genshiro, Alpha Finance, and more.

IRIS Network

Last month we discussed IRIS’s new Rainbow Wallet, and this month they announced they launched a new NFT Badge feature in the Rainbow Wallet. NFT badges will be utilized in IRISnet related activities such as testnets, community events, and more to further enrich the IRISnet’s NFT ecosystem. The new feature mainly includes the display and reward redemption two core functions. Bifrost NFT Badges have been distributed to the IRIS Hub mainnet address of testnet winners in May. IRISnet’s Bifrost is a specialized testnet dedicated to Cosmos interchain vision, where IBC and functions like AMM can be tested out. They released a cross-chain AMM short-term roadmap to provide a vanguard innovation platform for DeFi applications in the Cosmos ecosystem. IRIS stated, “Compared to other AMMs, Coinswap stands out with its ability to support multiple “coins” and protocols, and also be combined with functions like NFT and oracle.”

Kava

Kava introduced Kava Swap this month which was the next roadmap milestone after the launches of Kava-5 & HARD Version 2. Kava Swap is a cross-chain liquidity hub for all DeFi apps and financial services and a cross-chain Autonomous Market Making (AMM) Protocol that leverages the Kava platform’s DeFi infrastructure, cross-chain bridges, and security. Huobi Global’s $HBTC is now added to Kava as well this month.

Akash

Akash put out an update for Mainnet 2 (v0.10.1) which launched on March 8th this year. They reported that they have had a 10x increase in deployments since the launch. They have also updated safety features, ecosystem security improvements, IBC is now live, improved network performance, and more. Akash announced it is providing Sovrython Hackathon with a decentralized cloud and a $100k AKT prize to accelerate the future development of DeFi. Akash will also be providing $15k in grants to Solana Season. AKT is also now listed on Bittrex Global. Big month for Akash!

Sentinel

Sentinel announced that its $DVPN token is listed on Staking Rewards, a top site for earning passive income with crypto. Users who purchase $DVPN on an exchange or earn $DVPN through operating a node can stake their tokens on Staking Rewards to receive the crypto asset for contributing to Sentinel’s network health. Sentinel reported that this partnership opens up new ways for the Sentinel network to enhance its reach and availability while rewarding users who stake $DVPN with additional tokens.

e-Money

e-Money announced numerous partnerships this month including Custodiex to explore real-time cold storage solution for institutional clients, Uniqly to explore European stablecoins, Curate which is a marketplace for NFT, fashion, gaming & crypto assets, and Blind Boxes which is the world’s first gamified aggregator for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). It was also listed on Trust Wallet.

Vega Protocol

Vega announced the upcoming Vega Token Sale on June 2nd and 3rd. In a recent post, Vega stated that “The token is an integral part in the operation of the proof of stake network and the governance of the protocol, and having a diverse group of community members holding it is crucial to the long term success of the project.” The VEGA token can be staked and delegated even while locked, so every community member can participate from day one. They have posted a full article explaining all aspects of the token, rewards, allocation, etc on their Medium page.

Persistence

This month Persistence reported that the XPRT percentage rose above 89% and the network surpassed 50,000 transactions which is showing a lot of growth! Over 3,200 Persistence wallet addresses were created in the first month after the token launch. They also announced that they are preparing for the launch of their second ecosystem product, pSTAKE, which is a liquid staking app built to unlock liquidity of staked assets that will launch in June. pSTAKE will allow for the issuance of representative tokens on Ethereum which are backed 1:1 by native assets staked on PoS chains, which can then be utilized in the vast DeFi ecosystem on Ethereump and will support the major PoS networks including Cosmos, Terra, Polkadot, Solana and Ethereum 2.0. They also launched several impactful community initiatives. Solid progress from Persistence!

Minter

Minter is two years old this month and celebrated by burning 385,000,000 BIP! They reported that they had a very productive month in May terms of both development and user activity. Minter added support for stablecoins USDT and USDC as well as BTC. Minter Hub has been opened for everyone and cold and hot wallets mechanisms have been implemented.
