IBM defines the nature of the partnerships in this showcase as “solutions from IBM Business Partners and IBM with proven success in industries, specialties, and product areas. Find solutions that have met defined criteria for specific IBM initiatives and are developed on IBM technologies.

The program seeks to secure IBM’s crucial position as an intersection between the cutting edge of technology and the cutting edge of the business industry. Beyond a simple stack for B2B technologies, IBM’s vision investigates and cosigns its technology partners in the hope that it might edge out other cloud computing providers in a marketplace where businesses value trustworthiness over choice when it comes to their technological support. For that reason, IBM has decided to cultivate a slightly smaller group of partners that they consider not only sound technologies but also valid “solutions.”

And what is a solution? Again, we may turn to their own definition: “IBM uses the term solution to refer to all types of products and services provided by our Business Partners. This generalized term represents the value add of Business Partners teaming with IBM to bring solutions to our customer’s business problems.”

The IBM Cloud has vetted and validated Cypherium’s enterprise-grade blockchain as one of these solutions, and from there placed in its PartnerWorld showcase, where it joins 24 other projects, new leading technologies in the world of computing and software service.

See our listing here. Cypherium is prepared to serve its customers’ needs as an infrastructure, platform, or cloud. As the IBM partnership attests, the private and consortium chains made available through this platform may prepare future businesses to compete in a world where the efficiency, speed, and organization of blockchains become the norm.

Through the IBM Cloud Showcase, Cypherium can team up with large institutions to put into practice the concepts that have been buzzing around the crypto world for so long — faster payments, safer transactions, transparency, and efficiency in personal records — all that would come with living in a decentralized technological landscape.

However, for a new internet infrastructure to supplant our current vulnerabilities, a multitude of players need to come together and cooperate in good faith. There needs to be, paradoxically, trust to accomplish trustlessness at scale. For a plethora of small businesses to adopt decentralized technologies, major corporations that provide services of payment and infrastructure need to champion those new technologies; in order for big corporations to champion new tech, it must be vetted by their experts, their current tech providers, and compatible with some of their legacy systems. These might not occur overnight, but they certainly are underway. By ratifying Cypherium’s practical design elements, such as its instant transaction finality and Java virtual machine, the IBM Cloud Showcase ushers its business clients toward a future that runs smoother, safer, and smarter. We at Cypherium are excited to be a part of it.
