Hey everyone! It hasn’t been too long, right?

Ah.

Yeah, it’s been awhile.

We’ve had a bit of a breather since the Kickstarter ended, but we’re back to work over and excited to get started on full-time development for both UNBEATABLE and UNBEATABLE [white label]!

While things are kicking back into gear, we thought we’d give you a few surprises this week — after all, it is E3 season, right?

NEW GAMEPLAY PREVIEW

Today, we just showed an exciting new preview of UNBEATABLE at Day of the Devs: SUMMER GAME FEST edition. In case you missed it, here’s a brief overview of what we showed there!

Beat and the gang have made a daring escape from the local police, and are now making plans to perform a new concert in the city. This means finding a place to safely practice…and well, a venue to actually play at.

different decisions and choices you make will lead to unlocking new songs for your setlist.

UNBEATABLE doesn’t have a traditional quest log; Beat might try her best, but she’s not the most organized person in the world. That’s okay, though. Some things might inevitably fall by the wayside, but you just move past it and deal with the consequences, whatever they may be.

When it comes to finally deciding what songs to play at your set, you need to take special care in choosing songs you think the audience will like, as well as making sure there’s space for your band to have quick breaks throughout the set. The songs you’ll have access to are determined by your choices (notably your practice habits, who you talk to and how you talk to them, etc.).

Then it came time for the concert itself to start — this is where we showed off a brand new song — BLANK PAGE, which is composed by RJ Lake (and sung by Rachel Lake).

SLACKER BACKER CAMPAIGN

NEW ARTWORK done by Andrew Tsai (UNBEATABLE’s director)

For those that missed out on our Kickstarter, we’ve launched a SLACKER BACKER Campaign to let you support us! We plan on keeping this open until a little after [white label]’s final episode releases, so it won’t be around forever (but you’ll have plenty of time).

get us to the top — let’s finish the stretch goals we didn’t get!

This slacker backer campaign will include the two stretch goals that we didn’t meet during our Kickstarter — ONLINE MULTIPLAYER at $300k, and the MYSTERY TIER at $400k!

This new campaign is operated solely by us, so I’d recommend you to please read our policy and terms of conditions before you click that checkout button. Oh, and you’ll be able to use payment methods such as PayPal on this campaign as well, in case that was a barrier from last time! SLACKER BACKER Campaign support will go towards continued funding of the final game.

But that’s not all!

We’ll also be doing our first ever official ART CONTEST for UNBEATABLE, hosted on our Discord! Submissions begin on June 25th (the night of LINK UP 2), with the submission window ending on July 25th @ Midnight. When it starts, we’ll have the events channel open again for those interested in joining — and you’ll have access to both the rules + the channel for submissions.

We’ll be judging and featuring our favorites on the blog, Discord, and Twitter, and you’ll get a special colored Discord Role if you’re featured! Take your time, and have fun!

For those looking to participate in another competitive event for UNBEATABLE, we’ll be cooking something up for that soon…

CUSTODIAL REMINDERS

Before I let you off, here are a quick few things to keep an eye out for:

  • You might want to keep an eye on GLITCH’s Future Of Play event on June 12th! No particular reason…
  • We’ll be bringing a special performance from peak divide to the rhythm gaming charity marathon LINK UP 2! Check out their first ever set, featuring music from UNBEATABLE: DEMO TAPES! View the schedule here.
  • We just pushed a hotfix today for [white label] that made a few changes and fixed a critical bug. View the patch notes here.
  • We’re watching Nintendo’s E3 Direct with the rest of our community on June 15th! We’re not here to announce anything, but we will bring some bingo cards. The winner gets a snazzy discord role. Tune in here.

I think that’ll be all for today! Hope this week’s been a good one — have fun this E3 season!
