Can it be the Future Already?
It’s so interesting to watch this drama unfold. To watch humanity behave in a way that you know for sure will be anything but acceptable in the future. The president talking about how much he cares about how his hair looks and stuff — expecting that everyone else is just as insecure as he is. Nuts.
It’s almost as if you feel crazy simply not playing into this game of caring so much about what other people think of you.
After all, who am I? What am I? Should I care so much whether or not I’m liked or disliked, seen as impressive? That doesn’t feel very sane to me. Do you realize how much pressure we are all under to feel insane, to play at this game of ego competition?
Too much to look at? It doesn’t have to be. In the future humans will have fun playing some competitive games, but they will not forget that we are all in this together, whether we want to be or not. There is another way.
In the future, humans will take themselves much more lightly, understanding in a deep way that our circumstances are so far above and beyond what we think we’ve controlled. It isn’t lazy to think that way, it’s simply the truth. Awareness of it doesn’t cripple, it makes us stronger, it builds perspective.
In the future, the majority of humans will be humble and kind. Why? Because they will understand that it…
